Lexus will probably be the First Auto Maker to bring the Self Driving Car to Market

The race is seriously on between manufacturers  to bring the first driverless car to the marketplace. Analyists are predicting that a high end manufacturer such as Lexus or Audi, will be the first to open up the market to consumers. So who will it be? Both Lexus and Audi had good showings at the 2013 CES showcase with their driverless cars. So what would be the determining factor? Toyota, manufacturer of Lexus, has far more cars on the road and a longer track record of sustained integreated technology that they could use to ease Government safety concerns on a large scale. Lexus which is Toyotas Luxury line would probably get to usher in the technology first analysts say, because high end consumers would be willing to pay the much higher prices for a driverless model than a standard consumer. So what would the  markup be for a diverless model? … About $50,000 more for the technology. The question is would you pay that much exrtra?.. dont forget your insurance too… (thats a whole other post in itself)
