The Cambridge Analytica scandal is now a major problem for Facebook.
On Tuesday, the Federal Trade Commission opened an investigation into how Cambridge Analytica, on the outside a voter-profiling company, illegally accessed the data of roughly 50 million Facebook users according to The Wall Street Journal. On Monday, The Senate Commerce Committee demanded answers from Facebook on what they knew about Cambridge Analytica’s practices, & if anything was done to protect user’s personal information.
On Tuesday, The social giant’s stock has also lost about 12 percent of its value since The New York Times and The Guardian broke the first stories about the scandal over the weekend.
